Hi all,
We had a great day yesterday. I started back to work (part time) from
my
kitchen. The traffic wasn't bad, just a couple doggies causing delays
:-p
We had our gutters repaired today and my gas line was finally run so
I can
now do laundry!! Tomorrow we'll have a new vinyl floor layed in that
room
and new kitchen blinds. Fred's been fighting with the garage door (its
an
old wooden one that is not touching the ground in many places) so we
will
probably look into a new door.
Ok, you've all been waiting for
the trip report about Dairy Keen. Jeff and
his wife, Lacy picked us up at
5:30 (with Carter, Lily (twin 4 yo) and
Ayla riding in the far back). I rode
up front with Lacy and Fred and Jeff
in the middle. Dairy Keen is
owned by Jeff's grandfather who's 78.
I regret my camera died before I could
get a
picture of him but he was a really tall person and very kind and
wonderful
with the little kids. We all had Train Burgers for dinner
(hamburger,
swiss, ham, thousand island, tomato and lettuce) plus shakes.
Dairy Keen
is of course famous for its ice cream. Fred had a Pumpkin Pie
shake and I
had Burnt Almond. Fred's was outstanding. Anyway, after dinner
we got an
official tour of the workings in the back. They employ 110 people
(not all
at once) It was quite an operation. The building they are in is
fairly new
and they said their business grew 400% the first year after they
moved to
the new building. Jeff's mother, aunts, uncles, grandfather
and
grandmother all work at the Dairy Keen. The grandfather had leukemia
and
went into remission over the winter so he celebrated by taking all 35
of
his grandkids (5 to 25 yrs old) to Disney World on vacation. I guess
Dairy
Keen does fairly well! They also own a motel next door that looks like
a
Swiss Chalet.
There are new pictures posted at

including some of the
interior of the house and the mess! Look in the
Utah-Misc folder. Enjoy!
Love,
Liz and Fred
