Hi All,

Yesterday we went to the SLC farmer's market. It was so nice. Lots of food
vendors, fresh produce and farmers there with their goat cheese, hand made
soaps and many artisans with pottery. It was a beautiful day. We also went
hiking for a bit in the late afternoon and got a great view of Sandy from
up high. Then we had more unexpected visitors last night and finally ate
our dinner at 10pm! This guy named Jeff Olpin, who was the manager at the
hotel we stayed at in July, made fast friends with Fred talking about
climbing and hiking. So he has kept in touch with us and decided to stop
over last night and drop off some Mt. Olympus Spring Water (locally
bottled from the Wasatch Mountains) for us to try.  We still don't have
dryer hookup so I called another neighbor to ask where the closest
laundromat is and she invited us for dinner tonight and since she has 8
children has two dryers and washer, told me to just bring my laundry up
there with me when we come for dinner. Hopefully we will have a gas line
run this week so my dryer will be up and running.

I go back to work (at home) beginning on Tuesday or Wednesday. Jeff
invited us to go to dinner up at his grandparents 'Dairy Keen-Home of the
Train', which is their family owned business in the Heber Valley area. It
used to be a Dairy Queen until his family bought it. They wanted a name
that was close to the original so decided on 'Keen'. They have model
trains running around the ceiling of the restaurant. We will go there on
Wednesday night. Then we have our hiking date with the neighbor ladies on
Friday morning.

Still battling mice here! We hired a handy man to help us get things
sealed up around the house to keep the critters out!

Today we tackle the clothing and bathroom boxes and will go to a park up
on Flat Iron Mesa that is supposed to be great for letting the dogs run.

The two pictures attached are from our hike yesterday. We found a hiking
trail about 3 miles from the house called the Sandy City Park trail. It
gave us a great view of Sandy plus we found a really neat mountain lake
tucked in about 10 minutes up the trail. It would be perfect for a quick
fishing trip locally (Jeff & Henry!), you can see a dot in the water which
is a man out in his waders fishing.

OK, off to unpack more boxes!
If any of you missed our last posting with the travelogue of our journey
west, send me a note and I will forward it to you.

Love,
Liz & Fred
