We adopted Story on November 4th,
2003 ("Gotcha Day") from Dairyland Greyhound Track in Kenosha,
Wisconsin. Her birthday is January 1st, 2000, a New Year Puppy!
Story only ran a few races and was
fortunate enough to be removed from racing for doing things like
"interfering" and following the lead dog. This makes her a lousy racer
but a wonderful pet, or maybe, she was just smart enough to figure out
how to get off the race circuit and into a nice home.

There
are so
many Greyhounds that are desperate for good homes. Each year the racing
industry destroys. literally, thousands of wonderful, healthy, loving
dogs for the simple reason that they stop winning. Story could have
been one of these casualties if we were not lucky enough to have found
her. If you would like more information on adopting a greyhound, there
are lots of groups that are dedicated to finding homes for these dogs.
